*  Microsoft has announced that they will support Windows 98 SE until June 30, 2006. Existing Maxwell customers who are not experiencing performance issues should consider Windows 98 SE an acceptable platform for workstations running Maxwell, but some features may not be available. Windows 98 SE is not supported for new Maxwell installations.

Notes

All of the Windows operating systems listed here have been tested and approved for use with the Maxwell Management Suite. Any operating system that is not listed here is currently an unsupported environment.

The specifications outlined above assume Maxwell is the only software running on the given platform.  The introduction of further software or other functions in the installation may require additional system upgrades to avoid impacting the performance and/or functionality of the Maxwell Management Suite.

If you will be running Symantec (formerly known as Norton) Antivirus in a network environment we STRONGLY RECOMMEND using Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition.  Using the standard retail edition of Symantec Antivirus on the desktops will cause noticeable slowness in Maxwell (as well as any other applications that use a large number of files).

While Veritas Backup Exec (for server-based systems) and Yosemite TapeWare Desktop (for peer-to-peer and single user systems) are recommended, it is each customer's responsibility to install backup software and monitor its use on a regular basis. Protecting the Maxwell data is a function that needs daily attention to ensure system integrity and reliability.

A modem and pcAnywhere or High-Speed Internet access may be available from the server or a workstation with Administrative privileges.

The power saver feature should always be used on the server, rather than a screen saver.
